Inspired by my own toddler (and the Lost Boys from Peter Pan) who yearns for clothes with pockets, I started using the fronts of pocketed wool cardigans to make pants. Originally I made them only for my own children as the pocketed sweaters were scarce to find. But today I have listed the first one in my shop for your viewing pleasure! These capri-length wool pocket pants are sure to make your baby the cutest one in wool pants.
On an unrelated note, I must add that I have been loving the All-in-One diaper I got from Lil'Bees! I have longed avoided AIOs because I don't like diapers that take three additional cycles in the drier to finish drying. But her diapers use microfiber as the soaker pads, and they dry in the same amount of time as my quick-dry fitteds. And the fit is great too!

Good Nights Deluxe Nighttime Fitted Diaper
My little one is a heavy nighttime wetter, and after many mornings of soaked clothing and bedding I got tired of it. Finally I developed this diaper!
It has 5 layers of microfiber (3 is enough for a typical AIO), and also has a microfleece liner to keep the little one dry all night. The doubler is sewn across the back, so the diaper is all one piece and easy to use; but the doubler is free in front, so it comes loose to get clean in the wash and dry quickly.
I recommend pairing this diaper with a wool cover for ultimate leak protection.

Stocked some cute pre-folds and wipes.
I found some rare time with my sewing machine the other day and did up some really cute pre-folds with some fabric I had in my craft closet. After doing a dozen for my little guy, I decided to do some up for my shop.
I also did some matching cross back tops for some of
the girly ones and some matching wipes, backed with Bamboo & Organic Cotton Velour.

stocking store with new colors next week!
I just wanted to mention that late next week I will have as my featured items diapers in NEW colors, to get you in that springtime mood... I know I'm feeling Spring, and sewing with my muted, albeit lovely, winter colors is sort of a drag.
It's about new things. Bright, light, fresh!
So, what color speaks Springtime to you?

Earth Day is coming up soon!
Hi, I'm new. Not new to cloth diapering (or to blogging, I'm actually a bit of an addict!), but I AM new to both Etsy and Blogger. So, here's a little bit more about me (see below).
I taught myself to sew when I was 5, and to knit when I was 12. I started making my own clothes around that time too. My crafting pursuits have spanned from origami to spinning (yes, like with a spinning wheel and drop spindle) to soap making. But I always seemed to come back to sewing.
I started cloth diapering when my first child was 12 months old, and the second child wore homemade diapers from birth. Now, those days of watching prefolds blowing in the breeze seem like a faraway memory. Of course, with my little one turning 3 in a month, 'baby-fever' is certainly in the air here in sunny Florida.
So, that's my intro.
Now, let me tell you about my Etsy store!
Now, let me tell you about my Etsy store!
I'm selling diaper covers made from Malden Mills fleece and finished with snaps. This is the same design I developed for my kids after trying out a few different styles of cloth diapers.
What I really love about these is how simple they are. Plus, they dry almost instantly. Seriously, coming out of the washing machine, they are practically ready to use. And when you are busy with older children and an active baby, the last thing you want is to wait around for your favorite cover to dry.
Well my kids are clamoring to play a computer game =) so I'm going to call it a day. But remember to stop by and check out discounts/free items later this week for the Earth Day sale. I THINK I will post a few B1 G1 sales, which is sort of a humungeously good deal if you think about it.
Ciao, mamas!

JOYful Longies!
We just got our second pair of wool longies from BundlesofJoy, and we love them so much! They are well-made from recycled sweaters, and are amazingly soft! Since a picture of longies laying flat isn't nearly as interesting as a picture of them in use, we thought we'd share one of the latter!
Wool longies absorb moisture, keeping baby dry, yet also hold onto it, keeping everybody else dry too! The natural fibers breathe while still keeping the little one warm, and with soft fibers like lambswool and merino, wool has never been so comfortable to wear! So visit the shop and find something perfect for your Bundle of Joy. This will not be our last purchase there!
BundlesofJoy also carries wool shorties and a variety of PUL covers and fitted diapers.

Bones & Roses & Pirate Booty!
I am excited about our upcoming promotion and decided to add a few new cloth diapers to my Etsy for the occasion! Skulls and Pirates seem to be a hot item these days and I just fell in love with these four prints. I was able to do some fun embroidered covers for them as well and the sets turned out great!
For the Etsy Cloth Diaper Street Team Promotion, I will be offering a free matching cloth wipes container with the purchase of one of these 4 diapers. The zippered fabric container will have a matching fabric outer and an inner of polyurethane laminate (PUL) to keep your moist wipes ready for use. :)

My Lil' Baby's Rump is so Happy to be using Cloth Diapers from Katnappies!
I've met some wonderful people being a part of the EtsyClothDiapers Street Team and I've been having a lot of fun checking out their shops that are stocked full of cloth diapering goodness that I find so hard to resist for my little daughter! I would like to take a moment to feature one of those lovely Etsy sellers that has provided me with excellent customer service and an outstanding cloth diapering product.
I'm a prefold and wool cover kinda gal but I wanted some AIOs to use for when my lil' one and I are on the go. I figured AIOs would be easier to use as I try and change my wiggly little girl in some random restaurant bathroom. While doing an Etsy search (Cloth Diapers NOT burp NOT bags...don't get me started about how everyone uses the cloth diaper tag on things they shouldn't!) I came across Katnappie's shop.
I fell in love with these monkey themed diapers and just had to snatch them right up! When I received them in the mail only a few days later I was absolutely floored at how well made they are--I had to immediately go back to her store and buy another set!
I was also talking to another Etsian, CustomCrosses, about these great AIO cloth diapers and she said, "I got two of the most beautiful diapers in the world today...They are so sweet I don't want any poop in them, lol!"
Cloth diapering is great for the environment, better on the pocketbook than disposables, good for baby's lil' rump, and sellers like Katnappies are making it fun and stylish too!

My new favorite diaper!
So a while ago it was requested from a wholesaler to do one size diapers for her. These had always been on my "to list" (sort like the HONEY do list I have for my dh ~ stuff is always on there but never seems to leave the list :) and so I decided that before my 3rd little boy was going to be born (just after Christmas of '07) I was bound and determined that I was going to create these diapers. So off I went and what I ended up with I think is soooo cool and they work so well. I've been using them on my newest little boy since he was 2 weeks old, and even use them on my 2 yo!! So without further ado here is the picture of one of the newest additions to my ever growing line of cloth diapers.
Here are the new one size pocket diapers I did just a few weeks ago (again at the urging of a customer.)
I love how life changes what we need for our kiddos and therefore we create new and exciting things. It keeps life interesting, and sewing always challenging!
Have a great day!
