My name is Andrea and I just opened my store almost a year ago now. I have always been an advocate for cloth diapering since I learned about the harsh chemicals in disposable diapers. Starting to cloth diaper sent me on a journey of becoming more eco conscious. I believe we all should do as much as we can to help save the wonderful gift that is our planet. I think that many people don't realize that their contribution does make a difference. Changing the way that you live is simple. It just takes a little determination to do it. Once I found that determination I could never go back. I feel a great connection between myself and the generations of women before me. These days I try to think of ways to make something out of nothing. Many times I find that things can be made from things we already have around the house. So to enter the contest I would like you to leave a comment on my blog telling me your favorite way to reduce, reuse or recycle or tell me about something that you have repurposed. If you have a tutorial for something repurposed tell us how to find it!. For en extra entry, post about the contest on your blog and send me the link in your comment. On the 31st I will choose a winner at random. In your comment let me know which prize you are interested in.

There are many many diapers to choose from out there, cloth diapering is one of the biggest earth saving things we can do, yet there are very few people who know about them. So if you are using them spread the word! If you would like to know more about cloth diapering please feel free to send me a message.

Custom Made Wool Wraps

Recently, I was contacted by a customer who wanted me to make some more wool wraps for her. She had purchased one from me, and loved it. I forwarded her some photos, and she chose the wool to be used. I am very pleased with the finished product, as was she. It is amazing how you can take an older item and turn it into a new creation!

Little Moose Diapers Recycled Wool Wraps are made from 100% wool items. Two layers of felted, recycled wool is used to make this diaper cover bullet proof. Lastin is sewn into the legs and across the back, fully enclosed so no elastic touches your little one's skin directly. Aplix 800 is used for closure, yielding an adjustable fit.

Why wool? Wool can absorb up to 30% of it's weight in moisture. Once lanolin has been added, the wool becomes even more 'waterproof'. Lanolin also helps soften the feel of the wool. I have been amazed at the softened feel wool takes on. Contrary to what some people will tell you, wool is very breathable, allowing air to circulate in and out of the diaper and cover, providing a healthier environment for your baby's bum.

Godzilla diaper cover...who would have thought?

I had a customer order a Godzilla diaper cover and at first I must admit I thought "are you serious?" This is what I came up with and after I sold it I posted it in my shop just to see what kind of views it would get. Much to my surprise I sold another 3 of them within a couple days. Many thanks to creative customers with a vision for integrating monsters into cloth diapering.

Spring fabrics inspire me!

I love all the spring prints out there and the fresh new colors. I am really in the mood to sew girly things this month. This set is a fun flounce shirt but I added capri shorts for variety. My wool wrap has an applique to match the set, and the quick dry diaper is great for hot weather. Bamboo breathes wonderfully and this fitted diaper is all bamboo fabric. These will be stocked on Hyenacart this week and then moved over to Etsy later. :)
