Its Earth day!

If you are using cloth diapers or even looking in to to it. Thank you!
using cloth diapers does decrease the amount of trash that we put out.
While sceptics may say that the energy that we use to wash and dry them is just as harmful that is simply not true.
There are ways to make your cloth diaper washing more green.
Here are a few tips.
- use a biodegradable and earth friendly detergent - don't forget to recycle the bottle!
- make your own detergent- I have a recipe posted for this on my blog
- when the weather is nice dry your diapers outside and then fluff them in the dryer for 15 minutes. This can also be done inside but it will take longer.
The added benefit of doing this outside is that the sun will bleach out stains and help get rid of smells!
- if you are able buy energy efficient appliances when you replace your old ones!

Other tips-
try to buy diapers that will fit for a long time and use them for multiple children.
reuse prefold diapers for rags to clean the house
If you can't afford to buy diapers right now, look around your house for flannel sheets, tshirts or other $100% cotton material so that you can make your own!

The earth thanks you for cloth diapering your baby and so will your babies when they grow up!
